"My goal is to get a master’ degree in Data Science. Having been out of school for over 10 years, I desperately need to brush up on my mathematics skills. Anything to do with data requires a solid foundation in Statistics in general and Calculus in particular. The essence of deep learning, gradient descent, requires inside out knowledge of partial differentiation.

Educational Goals: Transitioning from the Liberal Arts to Engineering

"I was a college student from 2014-2018 as a Liberal Arts student. I loved my program and was proud of the degree I was getting. However, I realized that I wanted to embark on an engineering career after college. I weighed my options and decided that I was going to pursue an MS in Materials Science after receiving my BA in Liberal Arts. I knew that I would have to make my own path to achieve this goal. I knew I had to begin by using my summers to study calculus.

Thanks to Omega Math at Westcott Courses I was able to take Calculus I-III while I maintained a full time job during the summers. It gave me the flexibility I needed while keeping my costs low. It required some discipline and a good work ethic, but I was essentially able to teach myself calculus using Westcott Courses.

Fast forward to 2022, I graduated with a MS in Materials Science and Engineering in January 2021 and immediately started my career as a Materials Research Engineer at a government research laboratory. I know I would have never been able to achieve this so quickly had I not taken calculus through Westcott Courses."

"Several years back I decided I wanted to go back to school, earn a degree and become a Physician's Assistant in the U.S. Since it had been a long time since I was in high school, I needed remediation.

With Westcott's rolling enrollment, they helped me get up to college level within a short period of time. What would have taken me two years on the semester system took me eight months at Westcott. Once I got up to college level, I took my 4-year transferable math and English courses at Westcott. I also took Anatomy, Physiology, Microbiology and Psychology at Westcott and easily transferred the credits to my school.

Taking these transferable courses at Westcott saved me time and dollars as Westcott courses are about a third of the cost at my school. Devon and Nancy were very kind and helpful. Nancy helped me make a plan with my remediation and what courses I needed to meet my 4-year degree requirements, plus which classes I needed to get into the Physician's Assistant program.

I am very grateful for finding Westcott! I am now a Physician's Assistant working in the U.S., and very happy with my life!"
