Student from Ecuador to South Carolina
Current Job: ESL Teacher
Educational Goals: Graduate from nursing school and become a registered nurse.
"I found Westcott while looking for online options for nursing school prerequisites. Because I have been living abroad and working, I needed courses I could complete online and on my own time.
While all of the nursing schools require different prerequisite courses, Westcott offers so many of the classes I need. The staff at Westcott has been nothing but kind and helpful as I navigate a major career and life change. The classes have been challenging, accessible, and affordable."
Student from New York
Current Job: Public School Teacher
Educational Goals: Be a lifelong learner to better support my students.
"I needed 12 credits of science to meet the requirements for a teaching certificate.
Westcott Courses was a godsend: the coursework was rigorous, faculty and staff support was remarkable, and the tuition was fair. Overall, my experience was amazing."
Student from Texas
Current Job: Warehouse logistics analyst
Educational Goals: Become a Data Scientist
"My goal is to get a master’ degree in Data Science. Having been out of school for over 10 years, I desperately need to brush up on my mathematics skills. Anything to do with data requires a solid foundation in Statistics in general and Calculus in particular. The essence of deep learning, gradient descent, requires inside out knowledge of partial differentiation.
After researching the internet and various forums on education I chose to study Calculus and Statistics with Westcott Courses. Reason is simple: Westcott provides both great quality and value. Most importantly, their courses are truly at your own pace on your own schedule which is perfect for working professionals with families. The instructors are very responsive and in my experience all questions are answered within 24 hours. They are also very accommodating and will work with students for their successes.
Westcott Courses helped me show Graduate Admissions that I am still on top of my game. Thank you Nancy and Devon for all your guidance and support!"
Student from Virginia
Current Job: Materials Research Engineer
Educational Goals: Transitioning from the Liberal Arts to Engineering
"I was a college student from 2014-2018 as a Liberal Arts student. I loved my program and was proud of the degree I was getting. However, I realized that I wanted to embark on an engineering career after college. I weighed my options and decided that I was going to pursue an MS in Materials Science after receiving my BA in Liberal Arts. I knew that I would have to make my own path to achieve this goal. I knew I had to begin by using my summers to study calculus.
Thanks to Omega Math at Westcott Courses I was able to take Calculus I-III while I maintained a full time job during the summers. It gave me the flexibility I needed while keeping my costs low. It required some discipline and a good work ethic, but I was essentially able to teach myself calculus using Westcott Courses.
Fast forward to 2022, I graduated with a MS in Materials Science and Engineering in January 2021 and immediately started my career as a Materials Research Engineer at a government research laboratory. I know I would have never been able to achieve this so quickly had I not taken calculus through Westcott Courses."
Student from Canada
Current Job: Physician's Assistant
"Several years back I decided I wanted to go back to school, earn a degree and become a Physician's Assistant in the U.S. Since it had been a long time since I was in high school, I needed remediation. With Westcott's rolling enrollment, they helped me get up to college level within a short period of time. What would have taken me two years on the semester system took me eight months at Westcott. Once I got up to college level, I took my 4-year transferable math and English courses at Westcott. I also took Anatomy, Physiology, Microbiology and Psychology at Westcott and easily transferred the credits to my school. Taking these transferable courses at Westcott saved me time and dollars as Westcott courses are about a third of the cost at my school. Devon and Nancy were very kind and helpful. Nancy helped me make a plan with my remediation and what courses I needed to meet my 4-year degree requirements, plus which classes I needed to get into the Physician's Assistant program. I am very grateful for finding Westcott! I am now a Physician's Assistant working in the U.S., and very happy with my life!
